    by Rey Sifuentes Jr. The Lady Eagle varsity soccer team had six players recently select- ed for the All-District 29-5A team. Senior Gabriela Trevino was picked for the first all- district list. Trevino played every position for EPHS this season and scored eleven goals. Senior Team Captain Evelyn Luna was selected for the second all-district roster.     by Rey Sifuentes Jr. LADY MAVERICKS C.C. Winn High School’s varsity soft- ball team locked up the second position in District 29-5A after defeat- ing Laredo United South 5-3 this past Tuesday. The Lady Mavericks scored two runs in the second inning and three in the third while acquiring 11 hits and com- mitting three errors. Winn High School’s varsity baseball team (first place in District 29-5A) clinched its first playoff berth in team history and put some distance between themselves and their second place opponents following victories over Laredo LBJ and Alexander late last week. “They (Mavericks) were extremely excited about our program taking the next step,” Head Coach Kevin Laughlin said.     Eagle Pass High School’s varsity baseball team (in third place in District 29-5A with an 8-5 record) edged Laredo United South 6-5 in twelve innings on Tuesday. The Eagles jumped ahead 4- 0 in the first inning but United South knotted the game up by scoring a pair of runs in both the third and fifth innings.
