Lady Mavericks knock-off #1 seed Mission ....
Down 3-1 in the top of the second, Krystal De La Cruz came in relief of Lizzy Montalvo with one out and a runners on second and third, gave up a hit to drive in two then Jessele Perez threw to Sandra Mendoza at second for out number two then struck out the next batter to get out of the inning out of the inning down 5-1.

Eagles lose to South in last inning 4-3
The Eagle Pass Eagles cradled a 3-0 lead in the top of the seventh against the Laredo United Panthers until South managed to plate four
big runs in their half of the seventh off of Eagle ace Devon Torres.
Torres hit a double in the first inning to aid his cause and went to third on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch to put EP up 1-0.
The Eagles scored one more in the fifth on a two out bases loaded walk to Homer Flores.

Lady Mavericks fall 3-2 to United
The CC Winn Lady Mavericks fell to the visiting Laredo United Lady Longhorns by a score of 3-2 at the EPISD Softball Complex on Tuesday.
Krystal Contreras battled the entire evening, but had one bad inning where little bloopers and Texas Leaguers fell in the shallow outfield to score three runs for the Longhorns in the first. Contreras shut down the United lineup for the rest of the ball game and the entire crowd held their collective breath as the Lady Mavs chipped away at the three-run lea....

Lady Eagles trounce Nixon 14-3
The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles defeated the Laredo Nixon Lady Mustangs 14-3 on Tuesday in Laredo. Lizzy Montalvo returned to action pitching four complete and Kat De Luna went three.
The Lady Eagles stranded twelve runners yet still managed to come away with a big win at the end of the day.
Jessica Garcia went 3 for 4 with a home run which caressed the foul pole and looked as though it would go foul down the left field line,
but it stayed in for the round tripper.

Loma Bonita Boxing Challenge April 28th
The 2nd Annual Loma Bonita Boxing Challenge will be held on April 28th at the Nick Carr Sorts Complex where fighters from Eagle Pass, Crystal City, Laredo, Corpus Christi and San Antonio will descend on Eagle Pass to face the Loma Bonita Boxing Team in eight weight classes.
Admission to this festival of pugilism is absolutely free and Martin Lara invites the entire public to watch the action as his fighters have been preparing to meet all challengers.

LC Angels rout Wolfpack behind pitching of Bryan Gelacio
The San Luis Cardinal Connection LC Angels came away with a big win on Saturday behind an effective pitching performance by Bryan Gelacio.
Gelacio had trouble early when Fabian Salazar and a double by Rosendo Rodriguez which sailed between right and center field to put the Wolfpack up 1-0 early.

Several C.C. Winn High School varsity softball players were recently selected for the All- District 29-5A team. Freshman Ronnie Valdez (third baseman) was named as Newcomer of the Year. Junior Krystal Contreras was voted as 29-5A’s Outstanding Pitcher.
Voted onto the first all-district team were Senior Norma Moreno (first base), Junior Dulce Vasquez (short- stop) and Aimee Ramirez (outfielder).

Ramírez makes state top ten again
C.C. Winn High School Senior Raul Ramirez finished seventh in the 800-meter run (with a time of 1:54.45) at the University Interscholastic League state track and field meet held in Austin this past Friday and Saturday. This is the third consecutive year Ramirez has placed in the top ten at state. He finished fourth at the state meet in 2009 and 2010.

Mavericks oust Panthers, face Longhorns at region quarters

C.C. Winn High School’s varsity baseball team won their second consecutive playoff (in team history) by eliminating Weslaco during their best-of-three area round series held in Laredo this past Friday and Saturday. The Mavericks won Game One 7-0 on Friday. C.C. Winn then lost Game Two (10-4) on Saturday before taking the series by seizing Game Three (9-0).

C.C. Winn (14-4) and Eagle Pass High School’s varsity base- ball teams met on the
field last Friday with the Eagles (12-6) coming out vic- torious 2-1. Friday’s game
