Thousands Attend Community Thanksgiving Meal Thousands of people attended the traditional meal of Thanksgiving this past Sunday at C.C. Winn High School that is offered every year with the support of H.E.B. in collaboration with the school district, non-profit organizations and a large number of volunteers. Maverick County detention center nears capacity The Maverick County Detention Center recently received over 200 federal inmates, bringing it that much closer to full capacity. Of the 220 arrivals, 199 were male offenders and 21 were female offenders. It took the coordinated efforts of several local and federal surrounding law enforcement agencies to assist in the transportation of the inmates. Upheaval in Quemado, Local Ranches Drowned by Millions of Gallons Local ranchers around the area are crying foul after millions of gallons of water have flooded roads and ranches near the Quemado, Texas area.
