Fiscal Year will see Tax Hikes for County and City
The beginning of the 2010-2011 fiscal year in October will bring about some interesting changes for local tax payers. Both the city and county have moved forward with tax increases this coming year. The city recently adopted a modest tax increase to offset decreasing revenues and budgetary shortfalls. Con la intervención del comisionado Eliaz del Precinto uno del condado de Maverick, se consiguió que una brigada médica viniera a esta frontera para otorgar atención y medicinas a gentes que lo necesiten.
Lo anterior ocurrió el pasado sábado, con la visita de mas de veinte doctores entre ellos dentistas y médicos generales, que atendieron a mas de noventa gentes de la tercera edad.

Este miércoles los oficiales Johnny Muñoz y Manuel Cardona, de la División de Autos Robados del Departamento de Policía, viajarán a la ciudad de Austin capital del estado, para participar en la conferencia anual de la corporación estatal que investiga el robo de vehículos.

Patrullas de la Policía-EP
Dos patrullas del departamento de Policía de la ciudad de Eagle Pass participaron en una accidente, después de que una de ellas le pegó por atrás a otra que se encontraba haciendo alto en una luz roja.
Lo anterior fue informado por el jefe de la policía Tony Castañeda, quien añadió que los hechos ocurrieron el pasado domingo alrededor de las 4:30 de la madrugada, cuando los patrulleros acudían a un llamado.

Agents of the Border Patrol made an arrest early Saturday morning in the Quemado, Texas area and confiscated 120 lbs. of marijuana found inside a Maverick County vehicle.
