With Income Tax season, domestic violence goes up
Cases of domestic violence rises with the advent of tax return season says Silvia Giron, of the Wintergarden Women's Shelter of Eagle Pass. These arguments stem from money management issues that go hand in hand with tax season.
She went on to mention that in January alone they saw almost 60 cases of domestic violence, both man to woman as well as woman to man as women are also known to physically abuse their husbands in certain cases.

Conference warns of violence between boy/girlfriend Relationships at Junior High and High School l....
A conference was held on Tuesday at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center conference rooms in order to discuss the rising incidents of violence between boyfriends and girlfriends at the secondary school level, namely junior high and high school.

Second section of Outer Loop Project nearly complete: El Indio Hwy- Intl. Bridge II tract
The Texas Department of Public Transporta-tion (TxDOT) announced that they are very close to completing the construction on the second section of the Outer Loop El Indio Highway- International Bridge II tract that will connect the entire loop at those two points.
According to TxDOT, they are hoping to inaugurate the thoroughfare this summer and open it to vehicular circulation.

High School students reported missing have been localized
Three students reported missing as of Friday were found at approximately 3 P.M. on Monday.
Mrs. Arcelia Cervantes, mother of Prisma Yareli, one of the missing youths, confirmed that the young lady was found with another classmate here in Eagle Pass.
The girls failed to make contact with their parents the entire weekend, causing the parents to worry about their health and well-being.

Residence under gunfire from moving vehicle in Drive-by
Two people were arrested by Sheriff Department personnel on Thursday as responsible parties in a drive-by shooting against a residence on JR Rodriguez Street on the southside of Eagle Pass where residents were outside of the residence at the time of the shooting.
Sheriff's detectives detained two individuals, a 17 year-old and another minor both of Eagle Pass.

There have been unofficial reports of an ongoing investigation concerning an apparent fraud against the city of Eagle Pass in an amount that could be more than 30 thousand dollars.

Cavalcade "La Grande" will travel a week until it reaches San Antonio

Of auto theft ring; 4 pickups nearly stolen
The Eagle Pass Police Department has issued a warning to all citizens of a string of attempted auto thefts over the weekend. In particular, the thieves are focusing on recent model pickups of the double cab variety. Three of the four cases were in the parking lots of business establishments on Bibb St. and the other at the parking lot of Our Lady of Refuge Church on Ceylon.
