Authorities gather for ceremony for fallen officers
The Memorial for Officers Killed in the Line of Duty which was erected in front of City Hall was the scene for a service held in their honor where members of all law enforcement entities converged to honor these fallen officers yesterday morning.

F.A.M.E. Fest on hiatus as City hands down opposition
F.A.M.E. Fest which is scheduled to be held on May 18th and 19th has been temporarily put on hold as organizers, the YBA Society, have informed The News Gram that a letter had been received from the Office of the City Manager denying approval of the event.

Tribal authorities of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas of Maverick County have confirmed the sudden death of Juan Gonzalez, 44, former manager of the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino who more recently worked for the Kickapoo Tribe in the construction of roads and highways at their reservation in Muzquiz, Coahuila.

Jury selected in criminal case: Family confrontation case in Crystal City to be heard
The Maverick County Court House, before The Honorable Cynthia Muñiz-Berain will be the site of a criminal case against Guadalupe Ramirez who is accused in the death of John Moncada which occurred in a bloody gunfight between two families in Crystal City back in 2009. Hourly cuts being looked at for County employees
Maverick County Commissioner's Court is looking into the possibility of cutting back on employee's hours to 32 per week in order to confront the current economic state the County finds itself in.
"Several options are being looked into and will be discussed by Commissioner's Court," stated The Honorable David Saucedo, Maverick County Judge.
He stated that this is not a measure that they want to take, however, all measures need to be researched in order to improve the county's economic state.

Police investigating shooting in Las Quintas sector
Eagle Pass Police are closely monitoring a situation stemming from an incident in which a local resident was injured by a gunshot plus received heavy injuries to his lower extremities.
