This Friday early voting hours will be extended at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center.
According to authorities, the hours for early voting will be from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. in order to be able to conveniently go vote before or after you go to work on Friday. Be sure to exercise your right to vote and get your family and friends to do so as well. EAGLE PASS, Texas - U.S.
Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry Friday seized more than 12 pounds of cocaine from a vehicle entering the country from Mexico.
Friday afternoon, CBP officers at Eagle Pass Bridge No. 1 referred a 1997 Buick LeSabre, driven by a 27-year-old Piedras Negras, Mexico man, for intensive inspection. Two bodies found in canal on Thompson Rd.
A ccording to the Maverick County Sheriff's Department - under the direction of Sheriff Tomas S. Herrera - two bodies were found in a canal located on Thompson Road at approximately 9:46 A.M..
US Border Patrol working the area located the bodies and reported the find to the Sheriff's Department. The Texas Department of Public Safety Rangers Division assisted in the investigation.

Rollover on HWY 277
A spectacular rollover accident occurred on Hwy 277 East which is the highway from Eagle Pass to Carrizo Springs.
According to the Maverick County Sheriff's Department, they informed The News Gram that a family was traveling in a tan 2002 For Expedition rolled over when they experienced a blow out of one of the tires of the vehicle.
The vehicle ended right side up on the side of the highway and fortunately, no one sustained life-threatening injuries.

The first week of voting has produced a favorable number of voters who have turned out to make a statement, with figures reaching the 2,700 vote plateau on Saturday for both the Democratic and Republican Primaries. 2,700 is considered to be a favorable number and a positive one according to local officials due to the amount of candidates vying for each and every vote they can muster.

Students graduate from D.A.R.E. Program
Over 100 elementary level students of the EPISD attended a festival at the Maverick County Lake to celebrate the completion of their studies within the context of the D.A.R.E. Program.
Various law enforcement entities came together at the lake to collaborate in the festivities which included fun activities for the kids as well as food which was prepared by the officers.
The Pavillion was the area which was utilized to distribute refreshments and hamburgers for all who attended.

Citizens are encouraged to vote early and come 'en masse'
Victor Perry, Chairman of the Democratic Committee informed the News Gram that 363 voters turned out for early voting on Wednesday, which combined with Monday's total of 405 and Tuesday's total of 401 is nearly 1,200 early votes in an area which is quickly making a name for itself as a stronghold of significance to politicians nationwide.

391 voters go to polls on Tueday; 405 on Monday during early voting
According to Victor Perry, 391 voters came out to exercise their civil duty on Tuesday and 405 came out on Monday.
These are very favorable numbers in terms of the big picture in the Democratic Primaries being held this month.
