County Auditor Carlos Pereda submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday morning after 18 years of service, to Honorable District 365 Judge Amado Abascal. Authorities are now coordinating efforts to appoint a new auditor and assistant. Carla Mazuca was allegedly assigned as interim auditor and will temporarily take the reins after working for numerous years in the department. County Judge David Saucedo was at the hearing and expressed his gratitude to Judge Abascal for making important decisions on the County’s behalf.
