Brenda Carrillo and Eduardo Gutierrez took 2nd and 6th place respectfully in Spelling and Vocabulary at the UIL Region IV Academic Regional Meet on April 15-16, 2011 at UTSA in San Antonio, Texas.
The C.C. Winn High School Spelling Team also took 2nd place. Juan Jaime Rosales and Luis Villasana took 2nd and 3rd place respectfully in Social Studies. Brenda Carrillo, Juan Jaime Rosales, and Luis Villasana all advance to the UIL 5A State Meet being held at the University of Texas – Austin on May
5-7, 2011. The Spelling and Vocabulary Team is com- prised of Brenda Carrillo, Eduardo Gutierrez, Maria Hawbacker, and Ilze Chavez. The Social Studies Team is comprised of Luis Villasana, Juan Jaime Rosales, Roxanna Balbuena, and Esteban Zaldivar. The C.C. Winn High School UIL Spelling Team Coach is Ms. Lilia Moses, the Social Studies Team Coach is Ms. Cathy Mauldin, the UIL Coordinator is Mr. José Jimenez, and the C.C. Winn High School Principal is Mr. Jesus Diaz-Wever.
