Sheriff's Department agents affected the arrest of Cesar Perez, Justice of the Peace of Precinct 2 and one of his secretaries just minutes before 7 P.M. Friday evening.
Sheriff's officers were still trying to make contact with another of his employees who also labored in his office as a secretary.
The arrests were made by Sheriff Tom Schmerber by order of District Judge Amado Abascal after a Grand Jury handed down charges in December against the JP and his two secretaries for theft by a public servant and engaging in organized criminal activity.
The Justice of the Peace and his employee were taken to the Tom Bowles Detention Center and at press time it was not determined whether they would be able to be released on bail.
According to authorities, the arrests stem from an investigation which has been ongoing for several months.
